Before the new season begins, Asante Kotoko has secured the services of one of the most dependable center-backs in the Ghana Premier League by completing the transfer of veteran defender Zackaria Fuseini from Berekum Chelsea.

After a stellar season in which he appeared in 31 league games, scoring three goals and dishing out one assist, the 27-year-old, a mainstay in Chelsea's defense for more than ten years, agreed to a three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors.

Fuseini's transfer represents a big milestone in Kotoko's continuous recovery after a dismal 2024–25 season.

Fuseini, who is renowned for his composed demeanor, tactical acumen, and strong back-row leadership, is anticipated to be crucial in bringing stability to Kotoko's defense.

Coach Abdul Karim Zito, who is anticipated to be announced as the club's new permanent head coach in the coming days, strongly recommended his presence.

In Kumasi, Fuseini will also reunite with old friends, including Henry Ansu, Patrick Asiedu, and Lord Amoah, who were Chelsea teammates.

The reunion promises better unity and chemistry, especially in defense.

As Kotoko looks to reclaim the top spot in Ghanaian football, supporters will be hoping that Fuseini's depth of experience and winning mindset can ignite a new chapter in the team's prosperity.

Christopher Bonsu Baah attributes his football career's survival to his mother and young coach.

Christopher Bonsu Baah, a Ghanaian international, has disclosed that if it were not for his mother and youth coach Sule's strong intervention, he could have given up football in his early years in favor of dance.

The 20-year-old Genk winger, who is currently considered to be among Ghana's most promising players, revealed that at the age of seven, he started to focus more on dance than football and started slipping out to follow his new interest.

But to change his course, his coach and mother both took matters into their own hands.

I used to dance. I declared that I would never again play football. I was simply leaving, dancing, and sneaking out. Thus, he told Joy Sports, "My mother also wanted me to play football."

When my coach and mother got together, they were really direct with me. They gave me more than just permission to go out.

My coach would simply come out and start following after me, and my mother would also start going after me, even if I managed to slip out at midnight. Thus, I believe they both greatly aided me.

Their adamance has been crucial. Bonsu Baah unexpectedly moved from Ghana's lower levels to Sarpsborg, a top-tier Norwegian team, in 2023. After just 12 games, he joined Belgian powerhouse Genk.
