Despite last year’s rejection, Barcelona are still keen on signing the left winger. However, Barcelona sporting director Deco previously stated that "the Barcelona train only comes once," implying the club had moved on from a player who turned them down. Nevertheless, it's clear that Barça’s interest in Nico remains strong.
Adding to the speculation, Lamine Yamal recently posted a picture of himself with Nico Williams on his Instagram story. According to both players, Yamal has been encouraging Nico to join Barcelona.
Nico and Yamal share excellent on-field chemistry, and if that can be recreated at club level, it could be game-changing. However, Nico may have to battle Raphinha for a starting spot if he signs. Raphinha has previously stated that any new player will have to work harder than him—signaling he has no plans to relinquish his role easily.
That said, Raphinha could be repositioned—either as a center forward or as a central attacking midfielder (CAM). In such a setup, Lewandowski could remain as the main striker, with Nico on the left and Yamal on the right. That front line could absolutely “cook” defenders. Of course we should probably get ready to say "Europe be scared" if Barcelona could grab Williams.
