🔥Iran Missile Strike Kills Two Women, Injures Over 19 in Central Israel

In the early hours of Saturday, June 14, 2025, Iran launched a surprise ballistic missile strike on central Israel, hitting a residential neighborhood in Rishon LeZion and tragically killing two civilians while injuring at least 19 others.

According to Israel’s national paramedic agency, Magen David Adom, the missile directly struck homes, claiming the lives of a woman in her 60s and a man in his 40s, and leaving over 19 people wounded—some seriously—across nearby neighborhoods in Rishon LeZion and Ramat Gan  . Israel’s Fire and Rescue Services confirmed severe damage to four separate residences in the area  . Some residents reported receiving no advance warning from the Home Front Command’s early-alert systems, hearing only the air‑raid sirens seconds before the strike  .

The attack marks a significant escalation following Israel’s largest-ever airstrike campaign on Iran the previous day. That operation, dubbed “Operation Rising Lion,” involved over 200 fighter jets targeting approximately 100 Iranian military and nuclear facilities, killing dozens of senior IRGC figures and nuclear scientists. Iran responded by launching waves of ballistic missiles and drones at Israeli cities  .

Emergency rescue teams rapidly deployed to the affected areas amid a tense early‑morning atmosphere. Air‑raid sirens blared across Rishon LeZion, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, as Israel's Iron Dome and other defenses intercepted many of the incoming threats  . Nevertheless, the direct impact of this missile caused significant destruction and civilian casualties, underscoring the vulnerability of civilian zones during military exchanges.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the attack, framing it as part of “Honest Promise 3,” a campaign in retaliation for what it deemed a “criminal aggression” by Israel  . Iranian media also reported blasts in Tehran, including near Mehrabad Airport, as part of a parallel escalation  .

The strike has exacerbated already heightened regional tensions. While Israel vows to retaliate decisively, calls for restraint and diplomacy are mounting internationally. UN Secretary‑General António Guterres said, “Peace and diplomacy must prevail” amid fears of a broader regional war  .
