When the Hearts of Oak and Black Stars goalkeeper won Goalkeeper of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards, Benjamin Asare's meteoric rise in Ghanaian football reached new heights.

Before receiving his first call-up to the national team earlier this year, the 24-year-old had a tremendous season, solidifying his position as the Phobians' uncontested No. 1.

He was a star player in the Ghana Premier League, where his team finished in the top four because of his commanding presence, quick reflexes, and vital saves.

He made his debut with the Ghana National Team, the Black Stars, thanks to his outstanding performances. He kept clean sheets during the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches, which put the former African champions in a position to advance to the competition.

As his career continues to progress, Asare now seeks to solidify his position as Ghana's long-term number one.

Thomas Partey thanks everyone after winning the top honor at the Ghana Football Awards.

After earning the 2025 Ghana Football Awards' Footballer of the Year title, Thomas Partey, a midfielder for Arsenal, expressed his sincere gratitude, calling the honor one of the most significant turning points in his career.

The 31-year-old defeated Antoine Semenyo and Inaki Williams to win Ghana's most coveted individual football honor. He also shared the Football for Good award with Tariq Lamptey for their charitable endeavors.

Partey gave a moving speech to the crowd on Saturday night at the Accra International Conference Centre.

I want to start by expressing my gratitude to the organizers. This is the third time in a row. Thank you for that. And to all those who supported me with their votes. It is not simple, I know. Many of my friends deserve it. Although I am not alone, my family is there to support me, as you are aware.

I consider this to be just as significant as any honor I would ever win in my professional life. I adore it and truly appreciate it.

Partey received the award following a strong season in which he helped Arsenal finish second in the Premier League and advance to the Champions League semifinals.
