Forge FC’s Nana Opoku Ampomah Drawing Attention from Europe

Ghanaian winger Nana Opoku Ampomah is reportedly at the heart of transfer speculation after turning heads with his dynamic displays for Canadian club Forge FC. After a glittering run of form in the Canadian Premier League, the 29‑year‑old has attracted interest from across Europe, with clubs in Belgium, Switzerland, and Israel emerging as suitors  .

From Bundesliga to Canadian Premier League success

Ampomah, born January 2, 1996, in Tema, Ghana, began rising to prominence in Europe during stints at Belgian side Waasland‑Beveren, Bundesliga outfit Fortuna Düsseldorf, and a loan spell at Royal Antwerp  . Though his time in Germany brought mixed success—12 Bundesliga apps and two goals—his return to form has come since joining Forge FC in early 2024  .

Standout performances spark European calls

Ampomah didn’t take long to make an immediate impact at Forge. He earned four Man of the Match awards across his last eight games, punctuated by key goals and consistent wing play, setting alarm bells ringing among talent scouts  .

Which clubs are watching?

Belgian Pro League outfits Cercle Brugge and newly‑promoted RAAL La Louvière have reportedly placed formal inquiries, while Israeli Premier League side Beitar Jerusalem is also said to be weighing a move  . Further north, rooted Swiss side FC Sion, historically regarded for cultivating under‑the‑radar talents, is believed to be circling  .

His current estimated market value stands at a modest €90k to €100k, giving interested clubs real resale upside if he thrives on a bigger stage  .

Forge FC’s negotiating position

Forge FC strengthened their attack by signing Ampomah in February 2024, bringing a European pedigree to their frontline  . With his contract reportedly running through December 2025  , the club is well‑positioned for negotiations. A transfer in the summer window could fetch a reasonable fee, offering Forge both immediate reinforcement cash and international bragging rights.

What’s next for Ampomah?

A return to Europe would mark a full‑circle moment for Ampomah—back to where he once featured regularly. For Cercle Brugge or La Louvière, he brings experience and CPL confidence. For Beitar Jerusalem, he adds a goal‑threat from the wings. Meanwhile, Sion would represent a quieter but strategic step into Swiss football, a league known for launching careers.

As the summer window approaches, Ampomah’s future could be one of the most intriguing Ghanaian-origin transfers this year. Forge FC supporters and European scouts alike are closely watching – will the next chapter of Nana Opoku Ampomah’s career take him back to the Old Continent?
