The west African Football Academy (WAFA) are back in the division one league after two years in the division 2 of the Volta region football association after beating Kpetoe Diamond football club at the Ho sports stadium.
The Sogakofe based side which was beat in the finals last year against Inter Allies have done their homework and are now back into the second tier of association football in the country.
After dropping from the Ghana Premier League they played in zone 2 at the Goma Fetteh astro turf, but it did not work for them. The team had to nullify itself and go back to division 2 in the Volta region to make use of the Sogakofe WAFA park. This is where they played all their Ghana Premier League matches when they did wonders. The story has been difficult for them since the drop because even this year the club had seven points in the group phase to make it into the final of competition. And they had to grind it hard in the final by scoring first and getting a beautiful free kick equaliser from Kpetoe Diamond football club but they tried their best to get a second goal to win this year's middle league.
