It is being reported that Asante Kotoko's first captain, Fredrick Asare would be leaving the club after expiration of his contract. The goalkeeper who came to Asante Kotoko on free transfer from Accra lions. He joined the club on a three year deal. As it is also being reported sources say that the club tried to get an extension for the player when his contract was running down but it seemed futile and the fact that the club has signed a new goalkeeper in the person of Aziz Haruna Dari means that Asare would leave. The young man who has been with the club for the past 3 seasons and has had good moments and some bad moments that in a way did not really make the club go the extra mile to get him to resign and new deal for the club. He would also be leaving with some other players as well, when the contract totally runs down.
