Manchester United have officially announced their ticket prices for the upcoming 2025/26 Premier League season, and the response from supporters has been nothing short of explosive. With season ticket costs rising and matchday prices hitting new highs, fans have accused the club of "ripping the soul out of Old Trafford" in a scathing backlash.
The new ticket prices, revealed on Tuesday, see an average 7% increase across all seating categories, with standard adult season tickets now starting at £895, up from £835 last season. Some premium seats have shot past the £1,200 mark, while individual matchday tickets for Category A fixtures — including clashes with rivals like Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal — are now priced up to £75, depending on the seat.
In response, the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust (MUST) issued a furious statement, calling the pricing “tone-deaf” and “out of touch with reality.” The group said:
The announcement has triggered a wave of online anger. On social media, the hashtag #UnitedAgainstGreed began trending within hours. One season ticket holder tweeted:
Another fan, commenting on the Red Devils’ fan forum, added:
The club defended the pricing changes by stating the increases are necessary to “support continued investment in the playing squad and stadium infrastructure.” A spokesperson added that “affordable options remain available” including youth season tickets from £285 and senior citizen packages starting at £435.
Still, the explanation has done little to calm the storm. MUST has hinted at possible protests ahead of the new season, and some sections of fans have called for boycotts of early home matches.
With ticket prices at Manchester United now among the highest in the Premier League, supporters are demanding not just change — but accountability.
