THE MAYOR OF KUMASI EXHORTS KOTOKO PLAYERS TO SCORE FIVE GOALS AGAINST HEARTS TO WIN $1,000.

Richard Ofori Agyemang, the CEO of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), has pledged to give Asante Kotoko players $1,000 if they defeat Hearts of Oak in the 2025 President's Cup and score five goals.

On Sunday, July 6, the Porcupine Warriors and Phobians will resume their rivalry.

To inspire the players, Richard Ofori Agyemang visited the Asante Kotoko training fields on Monday, June 30, accompanied by Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene.


The mayor of Kumasi assured the team throughout the match that they would receive $200 for each goal they scored against Hearts of Oak.



"Please provide us with five objectives. Get $200 for each goal you score. We will deliver the cash to the stadium. You will receive $1,000 if you can score all five goals. "Just make sure you defeat Hearts of Oak for us on Sunday," Richard Ofori Agyemang instructed the team.

The 2025 President's Cup will begin at the Accra Sports Stadium at 4 p.m.

John Dramani Mahama, the president of Ghana, will be present to see the much-awaited matchup between the nation's top clubs.

Akwasi Agyeman, a board member of Hearts of Oak, has promised that the club's board of directors will back Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, the recently hired head coach.

Monday, June 30, saw the official unveiling of the former FC Nordsjælland and Right to Dream Academy coach in the club's Commercial Centre.

Before the 2025–2026 football season, Didi Dramani signed a two-year contract to replace Aboubakar Ouattara.

After his unveiling, Akwasi Agyeman said the club's leadership will provide the former Black Stars assistant coach all the support he needs to be successful.



"I can assure you, on behalf of the board and the Executive Chairman [Togbe Afede XIV], that the board will completely support you in carrying out your responsibilities," he stated.

Agyeman went on, "We want to instill a winning attitude inside the team."

On Sunday, July 6, at the Accra Sports Stadium, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani's first test as coach of Hearts of Oak will take place against his old team, Asante Kotoko, in the 2025 President's Cup.
