When asked about his thoughts on becoming a father soon, Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, admitted that while he feels the urge, the timing isn’t quite right. He mentioned, “Yeah, but I don’t want to start that on the road. I’m not planning on quitting tours anytime soon, so I don’t know where to now put that; find a middle ground.”
Known for his vibrant shows and busy touring schedule, Burna Boy explained that his current lifestyle—filled with constant traveling, live performances, and studio work—doesn’t allow for the stability that parenting demands. To him, raising a child means being present both physically and emotionally, day after day, not just providing material support.
He reflected on the nurturing environment his parents created for him, stating, “Have you seen my mom and the way she loves me? Have you seen my dad, the way he loves me? I know I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I’m living.”
Burna Boy firmly believes that until he reaches a stage in life where he can offer that same level of love and commitment, he won’t consider bringing a child into the world. He concluded, “So until I’m settled and I can be there for my children every day, I’m not having any kid.”
