Ghana’s former Vice President and aspiring Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is receiving thunderous support from the party.
Thousands of party supporters are enthusiastic for Dr. Bawumia to become the party's flagbearer once again.
The highly elated NPP faithful in voices of unison are cheering ‘still maintain,’ ‘no change’, 'Bawumia' is our man for 2028’.
A constituency Youth Organizer for Zebilla in the Upper East Region, Mr. Akumbo Samuel Wakiki, has expressed confidence that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's massive endorsement by 490 youth organizers across the country is a clear sign of victory in the 2028 general elections.
In an exclusive interview on Fabea FM with Apiah-Kubi, Mr. Wakiki, who is also an aspiring Upper East Regional youth organizer, stated that Dr. Bawumia deserves a second chance to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a flagbearer to secure power in the 2028 elections.
However, the real objective of the party’s reorganisation is not only to be able to win elections, but also to be better placed to deliver better governance to the people.
He believes that Dr. Bawumia stands tall among other contenders, citing his preparedness, marketability, formidability, and popularity.
"We believe that Dr. Bawumia is the most prepared, credible, marketable, formidable, and popular candidate with rich ideas for the 2028 elections," Mr. Wakiki stated.
He is the only candidate who can match whoever the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is bringing to contest for the 2028 elections.
We must be consistent in pursuance of our effort to address not just the challenges within but more importantly the challenges that bedevil our motherland.
We have also learned useful lessons in how to improve some things in the future. We must remain resolute and consistent in doing the right things again and in applying the lessons the next time.
We must ensure that Ghanaians genuinely see the lessons we have learnt and are willing to apply next time round. We shouldn’t be shy about them. It is then that our fellow country men and women will give us another opportunity to serve.
Mr. Wakiki is making a humble appeal to all delegates to consider Dr. Bawumia to lead the party for the second time, drawing parallels with former NPP leaders J.A. Kufour and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who both had successful stints as flagbearers.
According to Mr. Wakiki, the endorsement by the 490 youth organizers is seen as a significant boost to Dr. Bawumia's campaign, and underscores the growing support for the former Vice President within the NPP youth wing.
