NPP Faces New Challenge As Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta Diagnosed With Stroke

Reports that Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has suffered a stroke have thrown the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the spotlight, coming shortly after Nana Bediatuo Asante reportedly underwent surgery for a major stroke. The news has raised fresh concerns for the party as Ghana moves closer to the elections.

The announcement of Ofori-Atta’s condition quickly spread online, sparking strong reactions from citizens. Many used the opportunity to vent their frustrations over economic hardship, high prices, and what they see as poor governance under the NPP. While some sympathized with the minister and offered prayers for his recovery, others welcomed the news with political undertones.

Even though NPP loyalists remain firm in their support, the development has fueled skepticism about the timing and truth of the reports. The story first appeared on Ghana Chronicles and Onua TV, and since then, it has drawn mixed emotions across social media.

Some Ghanaians expressed relief at the idea of change, while others reacted with disbelief or impatience. One user wrote, “If it’s coming, it’s doing. God, we thank you. Let them suffer two months and take them away.” Another added, “I’m beginning to believe in prayers now.” These reactions show the blend of frustration and hope among the people. Can this affect the NPP political party? And do you think Mr Ofori Atta can be arrested for this? Don't forget to answer these questions, You can answer it in the comments section.
