EPL: IS THIS FINALLY ARSENAL'S SEASON?

Arsenal have been impressive so far this season and are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table, having only lost to Liverpool. They arguably possess one of the best defences in Europe’s top five leagues — if not the very best.

While some critics argue that the Gunners rely too heavily on set pieces and then “park the bus” after scoring, the truth remains that football is about winning, not necessarily scoring a hundred goals. After all, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored over 100 goals for Al Nassr but is still yet to lift a major trophy with the club.

According to Opta, Arsenal are now clear favourites to win both the Champions League and the Premier League this season. They extended their lead at the top after a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Crystal Palace, with Eberechi Eze scoring the only goal of the game from a set-piece situation against his former club.

With 22 points already on the board, this could finally be Arsenal’s season. However, many Arsenal fans remain cautious — perhaps understandably so. When your club has a history of falling short at crucial moments, it’s natural to be nervous.

But one thing is clear: with their rock-solid defence, tactical discipline, and effectiveness from set pieces, Arsenal might just be on their way to ending their long wait for the Premier League title in 2026.

Though the Champions League is a different ball game — especially with the new format — winning the EPL seems more achievable for the English side, who spent over €50 million this season on defensive reinforcements, including a goalkeeper, Kepa from Chelsea when they already have the league best goalkeeper David Raya as their number one. This shows a club willing to compete for trophies not play second fiddle to others.

Arsenal are definitely leading the title race.
