Asante Kotoko's recent performances have drawn harsh criticism from Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, head of the Interim Management Committee (IMC).

Following consecutive losses to Hohoe United and Basake Holy Stars, the Porcupine Warriors defeated Dreams FC on Sunday to get back on track in the Premier League.

However, Nana Apinkra voiced his dissatisfaction with the club's recent performances during the swearing-in ceremony of the new fans' chairman on Saturday, December 13.

"Our performance has been far from convincing since coming back from the African competition," he remarked.

Although we have only lost two games, Kotoko's overall performance has fallen short of expectations.

"We made it very plain to the players and coaching staff during our most recent technical meeting that they need to improve their performance right away. There will be more action if the required changes are not made," he continued.

After 14 games, Asante Kotoko has 24 points, good for third place in the Ghana Premier League standings.

When the Reds travel to meet Eleven Wonders in the Matchday 15 games, they will be looking to extend their winning streak.

2025 AFCON: Bafana Bafana wins a friendly against Ghana's Black Galaxies in Dobsonville.

On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, Bafana Bafana defeated Ghana's Black Galaxies 1-0 at Dobsonville Stadium in a fiercely contested international friendly.

In addition to giving Black Galaxies a chance to play against a formidable opponent, the game served as a crucial pre-2025 Africa Cup of Nations preparation match for South Africa.

Midfielder Sipho Mbule scored the lone goal in the second half. Despite controlling 66% of the ball, South Africa struggled to turn their possession into opportunities during the first half.

The host team frequently put Ghana's defense to the test, providing multiple chances for goals.

Under the direction of coach Hugo Broos, the victory gives South Africa a much-needed lift as they wrap up their AFCON tournament preparations in Morocco. Their only formal warm-up before leaving was this friendly one.

Since the game took place outside the FIFA international window, Ghana's Black Galaxies, which consisted of players from Ghana, used it as a training ground for the CHAN qualifiers.

Despite the defeat, head coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey said his team learned a lot from the game against a formidable South African team.

Ghana had a few opportunities but was unable to penetrate the Bafana Bafana defense. The visitors are now looking for methods to improve their offense in preparation for future games.
