Despite inconsistencies, Kwesi Appiah, a member of the Asante Kotoko SC Interim Management Committee (IMC), has confirmed that his team is still focused on winning the Ghana Premier League in 2025–2026.
In the ongoing competition, the Ghanaian heavyweights have struggled with steady performance and striking displays; the supporters are extremely concerned about the latest outcomes. Following subpar performances, the fan base has already demanded that head coach Abdul Karim Zito be fired.
After 14 games, they are now in third place on the league log with 24 points, although they have not earned enough points in their final five games to contend for the league crown.
After five league games, Zito's team has only five points after winning one and drawing two. However, Kwesi Appiah, an IMC member, maintains that Kotoko is ready to fight for the championship till the very end.
"We are trying our hardest, and even though certain choices are not always the best, they still have good reasons."
In an interview with Akoma FM, he stated, "We want and hope to win the Ghana Premier League title, but above all, we are prepared to fight to the very end."
When Asante Kotoko SC plays Eleven Wonders FC at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in week 15, they will be looking to advance their title chase.
