Didi Dramani, Hearts of Oak's coach, has announced that goalkeeper Benjamin Asare is almost ready to return to action.

Asare has been out of play since suffering an injury against South Korea in an international friendly game in November.

Since then, the Black Stars' first-choice goalkeeper has missed seven league matches, the last of which was the Super Clash against Asante Kotoko on November 9, 2025.

However, Asare has been training since December 17 and, according to Didi Dramani, will return shortly.

"Benjamin (Asare) spent last week training. So he is around 70% ready. He played 30 minutes in our friendly game last week."

"We are attempting to gently integrate him so he may return. "He went out with a force majeure, so it affects how we reintegrate him into the squad," Didi Dramani said at Saturday's post-match briefing.

Asare is set to be chosen for the squad that travels to second-placed Medeama S.C. on Friday.

Following their victory over FC Samartex, Hearts of Oak sit fifth in the league rankings with 28 points, two fewer than Medeama S.C., who are level on points with league leaders Asante Kotoko.

NAC Breda has added former Ghana striker Matthew Amoah to its technical team.

Former Ghana international Matthew Amoah has returned to NAC Breda, where he will join the training staff alongside former colleague Anouar Diba.

Both will work to develop and train the team's forwards and attacking unit.

Peter Maas, NAC Breda's technical director, praised the appointments, saying, "With the additions of Matthew and Anouar, we are bringing specific knowledge to the current coaching staff.

"Both have been performing outstanding and focused work with our youth players at the NAC Youth Academy for a long time, and they will now do the same with the first team."

The Dutch squad is currently at the bottom of the Eredivisie league, with 13 points from 17 matches in the 2025/26 season.

Amoah, a striker with NAC from 2007 to 2011, had 57 goals and 12 assists in over 130 matches.

Between 2002 and 2007, Diba made more than 120 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals and assisting 20 times.

Amoah represented Ghana at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, and he retired from the national team after 45 appearances and 12 goals.

The new coaching duo will collaborate closely with former Ghana captain Andre Ayew, who just signed with NAC Breda till the end of the season.
