“Courage and Conviction”: Hon. Gizella Tetteh Charges BECE, WASSCE Candidates as 4,374 Math Sets Roll Out

The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, Hon. Gizella Tetteh, has extended her heartfelt felicitations to all candidates preparing to sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) nationwide.

Recognizing this crucial milestone in their academic odyssey, Hon. Tetteh implored candidates to remain resolute, focused, and self-assured.

“Success is not an accident,” she declared. “It is the dividend of discipline, the reward of hard work, and the triumph of belief in one’s own abilities. I urge every candidate to enter the examination hall with courage, clarity, and an unshakable positive mindset.”

In a tangible demonstration of her steadfast dedication to student welfare, Hon. Tetteh announced the commencement of her annual distribution of mathematical sets to BECE candidates across the Awutu Senya District.

This year, the initiative will equip 4,374 candidates in both public and private schools, ensuring that no student is disadvantaged by the absence of essential examination tools.

“Education must never be impeded by lack,” Hon. Tetteh affirmed. “This intervention is about dignity, equity, and giving every child the instrument to compete fairly. We are removing barriers so our students can focus solely on excellence.”

The distribution exercise commences tomorrow, Monday, April 27, 2026. Beneficiaries have been advised to remain in school to receive their mathematical sets.

The initiative forms part of Hon. Tetteh’s expansive vision to fortify quality education, alleviate the financial burden on parents, and cultivate an enabling ecosystem where students can thrive.

“This is not charity — it is investment,” she emphasized. “When we invest in our children’s education, we invest in the future of Awutu Senya West and the destiny of Ghana. My commitment is to ensure that every child, regardless of background, has the opportunity to excel.”

Undoubtedly, as the examination season dawns, Hon. Gizella Tetteh’s final charge to candidates was unequivocal: “Make your families proud. Make your schools proud. Make Awutu Senya West proud. The district believes in you, and I believe in you.”
