Manchester United over the weekend lost 2-0 to Hull City and that was their first premier league loss to them in so many years. This came as a surprise to many United fans because they had so much hope that their midfield has been sorted with Santos and Tielemans so it would have been an easy win against Hull City.
Several fans also had so much hope in Carrick because of the wonders he did with the club during his interim management but to me, interim is different from being the main man behind the wheels. Carrick will really have it not easy this season compared to how he got it last season with the way things are going.
Also, INEOS is not helping things out at all. Imagine playing players out of position in a big club like Manchester United in big 2026. All players at the club are not world class so if INEOS is doing signings, I expect them to sign elite players who are coming to change a lot in the team and not players who are just coming to compliment.
A club like Manchester United U don’t let Casemiro go to sign Santos a replacement. A player who is a backup at Chelsea. You can relegate an average player like Ugarte to sign Tielemans as replacement. All these signings are also average for a club like Manchester United and won’t make any major impact.
The defense and attack is also crying out loud. If INEOS don’t change their average singing procedures and start signing impact players, then Man U will really suffer this season looking at the fact they will also be playing Champions League.
Signing Baleba will help but are they going to wait for him to come back to his previous form before they see miracles? Baleba is currently not in his top form and not the one we all knew from last 2 seasons. Also, he’s injured and coming back, he will need time to start adapting to his new club. Do you think the fans will have that time for him? As I always say, I will prefer to sign one quality Declan Rice for 100 million pounds than to sign 3 average Ugarte for same price.
Arsenal is signing Konsa as backup for £54m even though they already have several quality defenders and there is Man U still having Maguire in Heaven as their backup. The gap is wide. While’s the transfer window is still opened, the club should act fast and do quality signings, if not, Carrick will start sweating even before the season reaches its peak.
