 Introduction

Water is considered the elixir of life! As it is part of our bodies at around 60% in adults. It plays part in practically every vital process in our bodies. However during our busy lives it is easy to forget to drink enough H2O.

Knowing why we need to drink water and how it can help with our daily activities can really change how we go about our day. Let’s discover why.

 Brain and Body Power Booster

To succeed in school or sport you may think that you must study or train but staying hydrated can really help!

Improved Brain Function: The brain is mainly made up of water (around 73%) so if you are slightly dehydrated it can affect your ability to concentrate, remember things and can affect how you feel. If you’re finding it difficult to concentrate during tests then drinking a glass of water could help!

Increased Energy: If you become dehydrated you will feel sluggish and tired. This is because your blood volume has dropped which means your heart has to work harder to pump oxygen round. Drinking enough water will keep your energy levels up throughout.

Improved Athletic Performance: During any sport (soccer/running/weightlifting) your muscles require water to work properly. Without it you may get muscle cramps, get tired quickly and won’t have as much stamina.

Healthy Skin

Water also helps our body to maintain.

Healthier Skin: Our skin is an organ which contains many cells. To keep our skin plump and healthy we need to drink water. Although it isn’t a miracle cure for spots, it will help remove toxins and keep our skin looking fresh!

Improved Digestion: Water helps our bodies digest our food which means we absorb our nutrients. This helps avoid common issues such as constipation.

Temperature Regulation: When exercising we sweat which helps our body to cool down. By replacing the water we lose we prevent becoming too hot.

 Tips to Drink More Water

We don’t need to force ourselves to drink lots of water, just small changes can make a difference!

Bring A Bottle: Keeping a bottle in your bag makes it easy to sip throughout the day!

Add Flavour: If you find plain water boring add a few slices of lemon, cucumber or berries!

Eat More Water Rich Food: Watermelon, strawberries, cucumber and oranges are all high in water so can help your intake.

Drink Regularly: Thirst is the first signs we are becoming dehydrated so try to have regular sips.

Conclusion

Water is easy, simple and vital. By keeping a bottle with you and drinking regularly you are improving your energy, brain function and will be helping your overall health. Your body will be grateful!
