The winner of the University of Cape Coast (UCC)'s 60th-anniversary logo competition, Geoffrey Nanah, has been awarded an amount of Ghc 4,000.00.
Geoffrey, while taking cognizance of the achievements of UCC over the past 60 years of its establishment, has included symbols on the logo to signify UCC's victory in areas such as sports, entertainment, education, etc.
The University's management called on designers to design a logo for the anniversary. In all, 122 logos were submitted.
Geoffrey Nanah emerged the winner with a cash prize of Ghc 4,000.00.
The second winner had a cash prize of Ghc 200.00 while the third winner had a cash prize of 800.00.
The University of Cape Coast has commenced its 60th-anniversary celebration on Thursday, November 25 by unveiling the 60th-anniversary logo.
The University of Cape Coast, established in 1962 by the first President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, celebrates its 60th anniversary in October 2022.
This, according to the University, will serve as a platform for the University to reflect on its past and plan towards the future.
Speaking at the 60th-anniversary logo launch, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarkor Boampong, urges the University community to participate actively in all programmes that will be rolled out in 2022.
"Let me conclude by encouraging all of us in our various groupings and constituencies to take active part in the activities that will be rolled out next year to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the University," he said.
He further entreated the University community to assist in giving the logo the necessary publicity.
