The National Democratic Congress MP for Builsa South constituency Hon Clement Apaak insists that the parliamentary activity which took place yesterday in the absence of the majority leading to the rejection of the 2022 budget is legal.
Some leading members of the governing New Patriotic Party including Gabby Asare Okyere Darko has described as an unlawful the exercise which was done after the majority walked out from the house.
The majority leader, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu rubbished the entire process yesterday in a press conference saying the exercise was done contrary to the standing orders of the house.
He further said that the right thing will be done "in fullness of time".
However, in his reaction to Gabby's remark, the Member of Parliament for Builsa South , Hon Clement Apaak wrote “If Gabby and co think otherwise, and have any issues with the outcome of yesterday’s proceedings, leading to the rejection, they should go to court.”
However, many Ghanaians expressed their joy at the rejection of the budget because of the E-levy in it.
To many, the E-levy of the budget will worsen the economic situation of the country if approved.
