ï»¿A 20 year old English woman by name Evie Toombes has filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit against mother's doctor, Dr Mitchell for failing to inform the mother about taking folic acid before getting pregnant. Evie Toombes was born with spina bifida. Spina bifida is a congenital birth defect in which a baby's spinal cord fails to develop properlyÂ in the womb and it has no cure. Dr Mitchell has denied it. He claims he gave Caroline Toombes the mother of Evie Toombes a reasonable advice.

Miss Evie claims if her mother knew the complications of the folic acid supplement, she would not have given birth to her. 20 year old Evie has bladder and bowel issues due to this defect and willÂ have to useÂ a wheelchair when she gets older.
