Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, said the government is building 35 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Senior High Schools nationwide.
According to him, the government is also considering the establishment of five STEM universities to aid in the advancement of science and technology.
He explained that all of these recommendations are included in the government's 2022 budget.
The Minister made the revelations while addressing the 11th Congregation of the Knutsford University College in Accra on Saturday, November 27.
He also alluded to government intentions to construct and finish approximately 30 new Junior High School (JHS) projects targeting improving basic education.
He also took a jab at the NDC Caucus for condemning the budget.
He said the NDC is imposing propaganda to sabotage the interventions the 2022's budget comes with.
He added that the budget has been black painted and made to appear like the government has nothing good for the country.
“Politicians are our own worst enemies; even when something is good we may want to say it’s bad so that we can convince people to vote for us and I think that kind of politics does not inure to the benefits of this country.
We actually douse the aspiration of our people. When we talk about the current budget, you may think that the sky is falling, you may think that the end of the country is coming, you may think it’s so terrible that you don’t truly understand why the politicians were voted into power to go and destroy the country,” he said.
