General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has for the first time spoken about what transpired in Parliament on Friday, November 26.

Government's fiscal  policy statement was for the first time in the 4th republic  rejected by the law making chamber after the majority group staged a walk out over certain "unfair decisions" by the Speaker.

Speaking on Joy News' The Probe hosted by Benjamin Akakpo, the three term Member of Parliament and longest serving General Secretary of a Party indicated  the minority had to reject the budget owing to a demonstration of bad fate by Ken Ofori-Atta.

"The Finance Minister had been engaging the leadership of the house with the Speaker of Parliament as the moderator over certain components of the budget that had to be reconsidered.

After series of meetings, a decision was taken and the Finance Minister was to announce to the country through their representatives that Friday for the approval.

Ken Ofori-Atta didn't announce the decision reached by both sides of the house, but wanted more time to engage which clearly demonstrates an act of bad fate".

The Minority Group of Parliament demands a review of the E-levy, an allocation for the Keta tidal wave disaster victims and few others.

Mr. Nketia denied allegations against that he was in the public gallery of Parliament to whip his members into rejecting the budget and to frustrate government business.

He advised the NPP's side of Parliament to stop living in self-denial and adopt a consensus building approach and listen more.
