After losing 1-0 against Ghana on November 14th, Bafana-prospects Bafana's of playing in the World Cup finals were dashed. Bafana Bafana lost due to an intentional penalty granted by match official Maguette Ndiaye, which was converted by Andre Ayew. The penalty call, however, has backfired, as N'Diaye Maguette has been penalized.
The South African Football Association, as we all know, filed a complaint against the referee just days after the match ended. SAFA's CEO, Advocate Tebogo Motlanthe, filed a complaint with both the CAF and Fifa, requesting harsh action against N'Diaye as well as a rematch.
It appears that Motlanthe's wishes have been fulfilled, as PSL news revealed that the Senegalese match official has been sanctioned by CAF and Fifa. Maguette Ndiaye has been barred from officiating the African World Cup play-offs, according to PSL news.
Fifa and the CAF have agreed to suspend him indefinitely, and they are currently looking for further information. However, because the Senegalese official has overseen these competitions on a regular basis for many years, this is seen as a serious setback to his career. On the African continent, he is a senior official who is usually one of the first to call matches.
N'diaye threatened to book Ronwen Williams for time wasting even before the game began, according to Ronwen Williams. Ndiaye made over 95 percent of his decisions wrong in the first half, according to the former SAFA leading referee Ace, and all of those blunders led to the goal.
Opinion
N'diaye, in my perspective, received a low sentence because he cost Bafana-Bafana the opportunity to participate in Qatar next year, and the game may not be repeated. It is, nonetheless, beneficial.
