Friday 26th November, 2022 has been a day that'll forever remain in the history books of Ghana.
The disapproval of the 2022 budget and financial statement as a result of some clauses which the Minority see as an agenda to pose more hardship on the citizens of Ghanaian raises a lot of issues than we thought.
The Executive arm of government led by the President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo needs parliamentary approval in order to implement financial policies and other important policies.
In view of this the generation of revenue and expenditure of the coming year is in jeopardy as it stands. The question therefore is, will salaries of public sector workers be paid from January 2020?
This question leaves a lot of unanswered thoughts. Its Paramount to understand that the executive cannot make expenditure without parliamentary approval. In this caseif things remain the same, it'll be difficult for government to collect revenue and expenditure for the year 2022.
For now, it's our hope that this too shall pass.
