Cristiano Ronaldo has hit back at remarks made by Ballon d'Or coordinator Pascal Ferre, saying the proofreader in-head of France Football "lied" about his contention with Lionel Messi.
Ferre told the New York Times on Friday that Manchester United forward Ronaldo's sole desire was to resign with a greater amount of the honors for the world's best player than Messi.
Argentine Messi, who joined Paris St Germain on a free exchange from Barcelona during the nearby season, beat Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski and Chelsea midfielder Jorginho to guarantee a record-expanding seventh Ballon d'Or grant.
Ronaldo reacts to Pascal Ferre's case that his main desire is to resign with more Ballon d'Or's than Messi.
"Pascal Ferre lied, he utilized my name to elevate himself and to advance the distribution he works for," Ronaldo, who has won the honor multiple times, said in an Instagram post on Monday.
"It is inadmissible that the individual liable for granting such an esteemed prize could lie thusly, in outright discourtesy for somebody who has consistently regarded France Football and the Ballon d'Or."
France Football didn't promptly react to a messaged demand for input on Ronaldo's post.
"I generally win for me and for the clubs I address, I win for me and for the individuals who love me. I don't win against somebody," added the Portugal forward.
"The greatest aspiration of my profession is to leave my name written in brilliant letters throughout the entire existence of world football."
