Ralf Rangnick, Manchester United's newly-appointed interim manager, has picked RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara as his first transfer target, according to sources.

Ralf Rangnick had previously worked with Haidara when coaching the Red Bull team in Leipzig. The 23-year-old midfielder is the precise type of player Manchester United requires right now.

Haidara is a central midfielder for his team. He can play as a defensive midfielder or as a box-to-box midfielder, which has been an area of worry for Manchester United.

He is a strong ball runner who has contributed 16 goals in 100 games for RB Leipzig. The following is an example of his ability to move the ball forward: His release clause is said to be in the region of £33 million. If Ralf Rangnick chooses Haidara, it will be a terrific signing because United's other alleged targets, including Declan Rice, are considerably more expensive.

With the likes of Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek rumoured to be on their way out of Manchester United, the midfield post will need to be filled quickly.

It's unclear whether Haidara will be Ralf Rangnick's first signing. Manchester United had reason to be positive heading into the new season after finishing second in the 2020-21 season. That euphoria peaked with the arrival of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Since then, though, the Red Devils have had nothing but bad luck. They are now in eighth place in the Premier League table, 12 points behind the league leaders, following a string of bad results. Liverpool and Manchester City thrashed them at Old Trafford. Furthermore, United was defeated 4-1 by Watford. As a result, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired last week.

Ralf Rangnick has been named as Manchester United's interim manager till the conclusion of the season. After the season ends, he will remain with United as a consultant.

United will be hoping that he can use his management skills to help not only the current squad, but the entire club. Manchester United is attempting to construct a system to return to the dizzying heights they once achieved in world football, from style of play to recruitment.

Ralf Rangnick is unquestionably the best candidate for the job. It'll be fascinating to see how he performs.
