The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Attah, has presented a revised version of the government's 2022 Budget Statement which includes a drop in the E-Levy rate.
The Minister delivered the budget on November 17, which included a contentious electronic transfers levy, and that sparked widespread outrage among Ghanaians.
As a result, the Minority Caucus rejected it when the Majority staged a walk-out over General Mosquito's presence in the public gallery during the concluding debate on the budget.
In the revised version of the budget statement approved by the Majority on November, 30, the controversial e-levy has been trimmed to 1.5 percent.
“…we know that government has shifted from 1.75 to 1.5,” Alex Afenyo-Markin said on PM Express on Tuesday evening.
This budget, however, was approved by the Majority in the absence of the Minority.
