Rosemond Brown, a social media star, also known as Akuapem Poloo, has been ordered by the Accra High Court on Wednesday, December 1, to proceed on a 90-day jail term.
This development comes after her lawyers filed an appeal against her jail sentence made by an Accra Circuit Court in April, 2020.
Background
Lawyers for Akuapem Poloo have filed an appeal against her prison term.
Akupem Poloo was jailed for 90 days for posting a nude picture of herself which captured her 7-year-old son in it on social media during her birthday on June 30, 2020.
Many Ghanaians have condemned her punishment as excessive.
Her lawyers have filed an appeal requesting a more lenient punishment.
She pleaded guilty to three accusations and was found guilty by the court on her own plea.
However, she received her sentence when an Accra circuit court found her guilty of publishing obscene content and domestic violence.
The judge, Christina Cann, criticized the recent wave of nudity on the media, insisting that Akuapem Polo's sentencing must deter Ghanaians.
