By court order, Akuapem Poloo must return to prison to serve her 90-day sentence. Akuapem Poloo's appeal against her 90-day prison term was refused by a court presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey.
The court, in ruling on the convict's request to have the jail sentence overturned and replaced with a fine, stated that the 90-day sentence imposed on her was not disproportionate or punitive.
The court, in upholding the Circuit Court's ruling, stated that the sentence imposed was intended to cause the convict significant pain, which would subsequently serve as a deterrent to herself and others.
To that end, the court stated that the Circuit Court's ruling was correct and that the High Court would not intervene.
The court further ordered that her son be given to any family member who is capable of caring for him.
As she prepares to return to prison, Akuapem Poloo has published her final words on social media. The actress conveyed her love for her son in a post, begging him to be good till she returns home.
She wrote: “SON I LOVE YOU AND GOD IS WITH YOU ALWAYS YOU KNOW ??????BE GOOD TILL MUMMY COMES BACK ? GOD IS IN CONTROL ALWAYS“
