The Economic Fighters League (EFL) has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of colluding with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to compel Ghanaians to subscribe to the contentious 2022 budget statement and economic policy.

According to him, the NDC caucus is there to satisfy their "parochial interests" and not the interests of Ghanaians.

This comes after the minority caucus failed to appear in Parliament on Tuesday, November 29 which led to the approval of the controversial budget by the NPP caucus.

Briefing the press on Wednesday, the leader of the EFL, Ernesto Yeboah, described the development as merely a plan by both sides of the House.

“I listened to the Member of Parliament (for North Tongu), Okudzeto Ablakwa this morning and when he was asked why they decided to stay away from the Chamber, he said it was a strategic decision. Yes, It was a strategic decision to scratch their back because they scratched your back; a strategic decision against the people of Ghana.

Can you imagine that this NDC opposition has passed the Agyapa deal? Agyapa of all arrangement, they’ve passed it so let nobody be deceived," he said.

Earnesto reiterated that the whole development is just to throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians to think they are being cared for. He said Ghanaians have been failed tremendously by their leaders.

He disclosed that the EFL has an intention to contest in the next election to rescue Ghanaians from bad leadership and its undesirable consequences.

“The Economic Fighters League will offer a platform for those Ghanaians who are of integrity and substance to contest the elections in 2024.”

He assured that the group will use law means to mitigate the challenges impeding the economic prosperity of the nation.
