Paramount Chief of the Kologo Traditional Area, Naba Clifford Asobayire, has reportedly sold poles meant to provide electricity in his jurisdiction.
According to reports, some electricity poles have been confiscated since November 29, and are currently in the police custody.
Reports indicate that the Chief was selling them out at Ghc 650 per pole to some individuals through a middle man.
However, the Chief has denied the allegation and said community development is always his priority.
He said he will not do anything that will impede the development of his community.
He added that he was actually the one who lobbied for the poles to be brought to his area.
“I am the paramount chief for Kologo and am in for development. I don’t joke at all with my community. I wrote to the Ministry of Energy for them to come and extend electricity in the whole of Kologo traditional area for me. All the materials that have come are there intact in the house,” he stated.
He regards the allegation as merely an attempt to mud his reputation by his opponents who lost woefully while contesting him for the chieftaincy.
"I know, I contested the chieftaincy with some people, and they are the same people who are trying to give me a bad name when am doing good for my community," he said.
