Sammy Gyamfi, the National Democratic Congress's National Communication Officer, has expressed dissatisfaction and indignation at Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Member of Parliament for the Manhyia North district who also serves as Minister of Energy, over his recent comment on the Ekosiisen show. It was about the devastating tidal waves that wreaked havoc on the people of Keta.
Sammy Gyamfi slammed Matthew Opoku Prempeh for threatening to hold a demonstration in Kumasi if members of Parliament from the minority caucus continue to ram the issue of the Keta tidal waves down the government's throat. This was due to the fact that the inhabitants of Kumasi were also affected by floods, but they remained mute. Philip Osei Bonsu, the show's host, attempted to rectify the notion that Sammy Gyamfi was attempting to instill in Ghanaians' minds.
Matthew Opoku Prempeh, according to Sammy Gyamfi, was insensitive and had no respect for the people of Keta. If the government knew they wouldn't support the people of Keta, why did Asenso Boakye promise them that provisions would be made for them?
If Napo had been a responsible Minister, Sammy Gyamfi stated, he would have requested that equal attention be provided to the people of Kumasi and Keta, as both were suffering.
