The three finalists from Keta Senior High Technical School, who represented the school in the recently held National Science and Maths quiz tournament, have refuted claims that they are being feted more than the competition's true winners.
A couple of Ghanaians have criticized the three, claiming that the gifts and adulation they have received are unjustified, particularly Francisca Lamini, the sole female in the team and the outstanding female contestant in the competition.
However, they stated in an interview with TV3 that kindness and gifts are in order.
According to them, they are being shown kindness by Ghanaians especially by women because Francisca happened to be the first lady in the past eight years to make it to the NSMQ grand finale.
"It is not that we're taking all the hype but it's because of the lady among us. That's why most of the attention is coming to us because it's the first time in eight years since they saw a lady in the finals," one said.
Meanwhile, Francisca Lamini, called on philanthropists to get her friends to join them on their tour to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
