A Kenyan father has filed a lawsuit against his adult son, claiming that 20% of his pay be used to cover his monthly expenses.
Gideon Kisira Cherowo, 73, claims he sold his farm and most of his belongings to pay for his son's university education.
He claims that his son, who is now 48 years old, does not support him.
Only one of the father's four sons works for the Kenya Airports Authority, according to him.
In his hamlet in western Kenya, Mr Cherowo's family lives in a mud hut.
A photo of the man was shared by the Daily Nation newspaper.
He claims that his son has not been home in 17 years, despite the family's repeated requests for his assistance.
Mr Cherowo informed the court that he couldn't afford a lawyer and that he was bringing his youngest son as a witness since he couldn't afford one.
The son said in court that his older brother had left the home after getting a job in Nairobi's capital.
