The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) says the Overall Best Farmer for the Accra Metropolis was not given only a bicycle, sprayer, and some assorted items.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, December 4, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Gilbert Nii Ankrah, the assembly has refuted claims that the Overall Best Farmer was awarded only the items shown in a viral picture.
According to the statement, Naa Adjeley Mensah, the Overall Best Farmer for the Metropolis was also given items like Rambo poly tank, insecticides, fertilizers, and seeds.
“For the records, the overall best farmer, Mrs. Naa Adjeley Mensah who is a backyard farmer at Korle-Bu received a Rambo 500 poly tank, knapsack, seeds, insecticides, cutlasses, fertilizers in addition to the bicycle after a series of engagements with officials from the Assembly’s Agric Department,” the statement said.

The release further states that other celebrated farmers in the occasion like the Best Innovative Farmer, Best Agro Processor, and the others were privileged to have received items such as water pumping machines, deep freezers, and mesh for pumping.
The assembly entreats the masses to thrash speculations that the farmer received only bicycle, sprayer, and insecticides.
