LIST OF ITEMS FRESHERS ARE SUPPOSED TO BRING THE FIRST YEAR

  Moving to the university for the first time is an exciting moment in a student's life. For most ,its their first taste of independence and a first-time of self sufficiency.

Before moving to the halls of an institution that will likely serve as a home for the next few years ,however ,every first year student needs a comprehensive packing that will help them determine what is necessary to bring on campus and what is best left in their parent's basement.

If you're moving into a university residence, you need to have  in mind that there isn't a tonne of space for storage.

Dear students, the following items will be necessary for your stay on campus .Remember we have needs and wants so you can choose to prioritise them.

consider these items when coming to school;

Tech items

  1. Every student should have a laptop for writing and research or you can bring  a tablet or any smart phone that you have .
  2. USB memory stick
  3. small desktop printer (option)
  4. headphones
  5. gaming console

 Important documents

  1. -Admission letter(3copies)
  2. -School fees receipt(2copies)
  3. -Hall tenancy agreement forms 
  4.  Registration forms
  5. passport photos(4)
  6. National insurance card(valid)
  7. voters ID copy

*KITCHEN ITEMS *

couple of bowls and plates

cutlery

saucepan

utensils

knife 

sponge or dishcloth

foodstuffs(plenty)

NB: prepare your own food to save money on junk foods


*BEDROOM*

Bedspread ,pillow and pillowcases


*TOILET AND BATHROOM*

towel 

bathing and washing soaps

toothpaste and brush

detergent

pegs

buckets

toilet roll

*ACADEMIC ITEMS*

exercise books

pen, pencils and mathematical set

books related to your course of study

*CLOTHING *

lounge wear shoes night wear raincoat clothes hangers some official wear

*ELECTRICAL ITEMS*

iron

blender

kettle

rice cooker

hot plate or burner


NB:NO chopbox, trunk and mattresses

This is just to guide you, so if your parents can not afford these do not put pressure on them and if they can afford too it's fine.
