According to El Nacional, a Catalan news agency, Barcelona has been told they will have to pay €30 million to sign Anthony Martial away from Manchester United.
In September 2015, Anthony Martial joined Manchester United from AS Monaco in a move that made him the most expensive teenager in the world at the time. The Frenchman made an early impact at the club, scoring a fantastic solo goal against arch rivals Liverpool on his debut. Martial finished his first season as Manchester United's leading scorer, and the Frenchman appeared to have no limits at Old Trafford.
However, the 26-year-recent old's performances at Old Trafford have been disturbingly inconsistent. Since finishing as Manchester United's top scorer in the 2019/20 season, the Frenchman's form has deteriorated. Martial has struggled to find a place in Manchester United's starting lineup this season, appearing in only 359 minutes and scoring only once in ten appearances. Manchester United is considering selling the attacker due to his shocking decrease in form, with Barcelona among his suitors.
Barcelona is currently without a recognised goal scorer, and Xavi has been forced to use Memphis Depay in a pivotal role due to Sergio Aguero's absence. Adding Martial might help Xavi resurrect Blaugrana, which has struggled since Lionel Messi's departure.
Despite their financial difficulties, Barcelona can pay Manchester United's asking price of €30 million, and rumours say that Martial might be open to a move if it happens. Cavani, on the other hand, is a fantastic player."
