If rumours are to be believed, Real Madrid could lose one of their most promising young players to Newcastle United next summer. Reinier Jesus of Los Blancos is the latest player to be linked with a move away from the club.
According to sources, the attacking midfielder has caught Newcastle's attention, and a move to the Premier League appears to be on the cards.
Reinier Jesus' time with Real Madrid has not gone as planned, and both sides may be willing to cut time on their relationship.
Midway through the 2019-20 season, the Brazilian joins the Liga giants from Flamengo. In August 2020, he was transferred on a two-season loan to Borussia Dortmund after failing to break into the team during the second half of the season. Reinier's fortunes in Germany haven't changed for the better. His time with the BVB has raised more questions than it has provided answers. In his 18-month stay at Signal Iduna Park, the offensive midfielder has made 28 appearances, but has only one goal and one assist to his name.
When his loan arrangement with Real Madrid expires at the conclusion of the season, the midfielder will return to the Spanish capital.
Reinier, according to several reports, has no intention of staying at the Santiago Bernabeu. Before next season, he is anticipated to go in pursuit of greener pastures.
In the meantime, Newcastle United isn't the only club keeping an eye on the Brazilian.
Getafe, Espanyol, and Benfica are among the clubs rumoured to be interested in signing him. It'll be interesting to see how things turn out next summer.
