Former Bank of Ghana governor and Finance Minister under the erstwhile late President Rawlings and Mills' administration respectively, Dr. Kwabena Duffour has reacted to rumours peddled by a section of his party on his Presidential ambition.
Speaking with Serwaa Amihere on Ghtoday on GhOne, the business mogul debunked the assertions by persons believed to be supporters of President Mahama.
Mr. Duffour has been accused of being a mole planted in the NDC by the ruling party, to destroy the chances of the 2020 Presidential candidate of the party ahead of the 2024 polls.
"Those claims are just wicked and I pray that people will put their thinking caps on. It is very unfair.
Who will serve a country for four(4) years and not accept anything, no salary, no allowance, no ex-gratia, why will I be a mole when money is not my problem", he quizzed.
Dr. Duffour touted his undisputable record of long years of service and support for the National Democratic Congress and the country.
Ahead of the 2022 Presidential primaries of the NDC, Dr. Duffour and John Mahama, although not officially confirmed have expressed interest in contesting.
Dr. Duffour was a governor of the Bank of Ghana under the late President Rawlings and became Finance Minister under the late Prof. Evans Atta Mills until 2013.
