Mohamed Salah has provided an update on his Liverpool contract situation, just days after Didier Drogba called for the former Chelsea star to return to Stamford Bridge.

Mohamed Salah has urged Liverpool to resolve his contract situation as speculation about his future continues.

With 13 goals and 10 assists in just 15 appearances this season, the Reds attacker is the Premier League's leading scorer.

Salah's current contract at Anfield expires at the end of next season, and he has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona, but he recently admitted that he wants to stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career.

In an interview with Sky Sports News in October, the Egypt international stated: "It has nothing to do with me. If you ask me, I'd like to stay until the end of my football (career), but I can't say much because it's out of my hands.

"It depends on what the club wants, not what I want. At the moment, I can't imagine ever playing against Liverpool, which would be a shame."

In a strong message to his employers, the former Chelsea attacker has reiterated his commitment to Liverpool.

According to the Liverpool Echo, he stated: "I've said it several times: if it were up to me, I'd stay in Liverpool. However, the decision is in the hands of management, and they must resolve this issue.

"Your financial value demonstrates how much the club values you and is willing to go to any length to keep you, but the decision is not solely based on financial considerations." There are things like the team's and the coach's ambitions, as well as what he wants to do with the team and the players he wants. These are all critical considerations when making a decision."

Salah's message comes just a few days after Chelsea legend Didier Drogba urged Salah to make a sensational return to Stamford Bridge.

Drogba told Al-Axis TV, as reported by the Liverpool Echo: "If I'm being selfish, I'll tell Salah to leave Liverpool and rejoin Chelsea.

"In my opinion, Salah will remain the best, whether he stays at Liverpool or moves." Any other team would perform better (with Salah) because he understands what he is doing, is good at scoring and creating goals, and only requires the coach's trust. This is his decision and his future. I'll follow him wherever he goes."
