Ghanaian based rap artist, Sarkodie has come under scrutiny for his recent tweet that has made the populace question his stance on political issues in the country. Sarkodie made his tweet to show concern and that the incumbent government can do better to reduce the hardship faced by masses after a strike was declared by commercial drivers on Monday, 6th December 2021. Tweeps took to express their disappointment under the post and argued that Sarkodie did worse under the previous government administration including releasing a diss song on how hardship has affected the country. Some even claimed Sarkodie knew the plights of the ordinary Ghanaian but still tagged his ticket at an exorbitant price.
Sarkodie image has come under attack in recent years following how he seeks to address issues, he has been stigmatized as a stingy artist by his critics who feel Sarkodie does not show appreciation to people who have helped him in his formative years as an upcoming artist.
Many have criticized him for being a mastermind in playing victim to situations that has led to misunderstanding between him and fellow mega artists including Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale just to mention a few.
His inability to explain behind the scenes, actions of negative turn of events has cost him his goodwill with some industry persons.Sarkodie's ability to rise with his compatriots such as Wizkid, Davido and Burna boy has not come to fruition due to his in- game management. His ability to collaborate with fellow big acts to headline international events came into question after Shatta Wale accused him of disloyalty during their negotiation with Glo network on how much to be earned on an event that was hosted outside Ghana.Sarkodie may have die hard fans across countries in Africa and recognition for longevity as one of the best rappers in Africa . But it is time he channels investment into public relation to ensure his rise to international standard is on track without blemish. Sarkodie is without doubt one of Ghana's finest music export and it would be sad seeing his legacy being tainted by his own inactions.
