A recently built police station in Tenbibian near Obom in the Ga South Municipality in the Greater Accra region was set ablaze by some accused land guards.

The structure was supposed to be commissioned this week, according to residents who have been left very shocked.

The culprits destroyed the glass doors before setting fire to all of the furnishings in the commander's office.

Tenbibian, Obom, and Ashalaja, according to the Adom News Correspondent Kofi Agyei, have all been declared dangerous zones by the inhabitants due to the nefarious activities of land guards.

The traditional chief, Nii Quashie Amponsah, has urged the police to probe the matter and endure the criminals are apprehended and dealt with by the law.

“It is an unfortunate incident which has not rested well with me nor any of my council members or the people of this community. I am pleading that they [Police] investigate this incident.

“We are not happy with it. We are not behind it. We don’t like what happened and we are not in support of it. So the Police and all its bodies should take this matter up and make sure the culprits are brought to book,” he said.
