Barcelona we will be playing their last champions league game against German side Bayern Munich.
Barcelona who have been struggling in both the laliga and the champions league will have their their fate in their hands today ,to decide whether they will join their colleague clubs who have qualified for the knockout stage of the competition.
They drew with Benfica at home in their last champions league game they played in November.
Bayern Munich who has qualified for the next round is leading the Group E with 15 points while Barcelona are second with 7 points followed by Benfica who are with 5 points.
Barcelona are leading Benfica with only two points.
Benfica who are determined to play champions league this year will no matter what like to win their last game and qualify.
Benfica will be facing low performing club in their Group Dynamo Kyiv. A team which has lost 4 of his champions league matches and having only one draw will be playing against a team who is ready to fight very hard to qualify to the next round of the competition.
As the group stands now, if Barcelona looses against Bayern Munich and Benfica wins against Kyiv ,Barcelona will be on third position with 7 points while Benfica will be second on the table with 8 points.
The same way if Benfica looses, win or draw and Barcelona wins , Barcelona will then remain at his 2nd position with 10 points.
Any win today will see Barcelona at the round of 16 in the champions league.
But unfortunately If Barcelona draw against Bayern and Benfica wins then , Benfica head to head 3:0 win against Barcelona at Lisbon will see Benfica through . If it happens this way Barcelona will then have to play Europa league.
Barcelona would have qualified to round of 16 if they had won their game against Benfica in their home grounds.
