TAKES FROM BAYERN MUNICH VS BARCELONA GAME

Wednesday night saw a match between Bayern Munich and Barcelona ending in a disappointment for Barcelona. The latter had hopes of qualifying to the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League, unfortunately their campaign ended before 22:00 GMT. As things stand, Barcelona will be competing in the UEFA Europa League.

A standout performance from Jamal Musiala must not go unnoticed. The goal was just the cherry on the cake for Jamal Musiala. How he managed to boldly play in Bayern’s midfield double pivot as a natural attacker, is incredible for an 18 year old. The number of times he passed or dribbled through Barca's pressure was superb. Unreal talent.

A good game from Leroy Sané deserves some praises as well. Sané was tracking Barcelona runners into deep midfield areas at times & recovering the ball. Nagelsmann has helped  revitalised his career both in terms of work rate & tactically by using him in a more narrow role like a left-sided number 10. His efforts on goal keeps on improving.

Barcelona having to play  Sergiño Dest (a natural RB) as a winger in a decisive match says much about how bad things are for them currently. Xavi will have a lot of work to do.
