Spanish side Barcelona were hoping to grab a win yesterday at Germany Bayern Munich home grounds . They came into the game with a great mentality to get all the three points to help the qualify for the champions league round of 16.
But unfortunately, Bayern Munich never gave Barcelona the chance to qualify.
Barcelona were try their best to hold the pressure from Bayern Munich side who were determined to destroy Barcelona and picked all 18 points from their group.
But it didn’t happen the way the Catalan giants were expecting. They conceded two goals in the first half. The first goal of the first half was scored by Thomas Muller . who was one of the players ready to destroy Barcelona, Lewandowski crossed the ball to the far end of the post and Muller got his head into it.Barcelona defender did his best trying to prevent Muller from scoring, but after watching the VAR and the goal line technology, it was given as a goal.
Leroy Sane also added a brilliant strike in the first half helping the German side lead 2:0 in the first half.
Musiala added the last goal making it 3:0 for Budesliga Champions.
Barcelona was looking to see Benfica to loose his last match against Dynamo Kyiv , in other to help the Catalan side to qualify to next round of the competition. But unfortunately the Portugal side scored an early 2 goals which lead them to victory.
Barcelona could have finished their qualification problems the last time they played Benfica , but they couldn’t find the back of Benfica net and drew at their home grounds against Benfica.
The Catalan club has never participated in the Uefa Europa league before ,Monday’s draw will be the first time Barcelona side will feature in a draw for the second tier competition.
The last time we didn’t see Barcelona in the round of 16 of the champions league was 2003-2004 that season, Barcelona missed the champions league completely and played in what was then considered as the Uefa cup.
Barcelona will join the likes of Dortmund, Sevilla , Porto, RB Leipzig zenit , Napoli , Real Sociedad and the rest.
