Deputy youth organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Edem Agbana has made a bold statement about the discriminatory utterances made by the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South who doubles as the Minister of Energy.
Addressing the issue on TV3 new day, the young firebrand communicator expressed worry over the tribalistic and irresponsible comments made by the cabinet minister and called for an apology for the people of Keta and the region at large.
His disappointment comes at the back of a statement made on Asempa FM's Ekosiisen by Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh who vowed to lead a protest in Kumasi if the finance minister succumb to the needs of the Keta disaster victims.
He cited the recent power outages in the Ashanti Region and floods which didn't get an allocation in the 2022 budget.
Mr. Agbana registered his displeasure with the comments and dared the minister to visit the region. He declared the minister should not step in the Volta Region if he fails to apologise.
"It is so disappointing to hear a cabinet minister think or speak in such a despicable and irresponsible manner.
It is very irresponsible and reckless to make such a statement. Let me warn him that he should not step in the region without apologising".
People of the region and Ghanaians have expressed shock at the comments made by the minister.
In other related news, the finance minister has made a ¢10 million allocation for the Keta sea defense project against the words of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh.
