The title of the article looks like clickbait, right? I know exactly how that feels.
Many a time, I have looked for ways to make money on the internet by not selling any service to no avail. I have searched for hundreds of blog posts with catchy headlines. I ended up finding nothing legit, so I gave up.
Last year, I bought a new laptop, and as usual, I uninstalled the default windows browser and do what most of us do. I installed chrome and was comfortable using it.
I wanted to upgrade my laptop’s RAM (Random Access Memory). After lectures on a sunny day, I stayed back to browse for the cheapest option of RAM I can find online.
A friend of mine called Prince also stayed back to do his stuff. We sat at the back of the class and had a convo, as I look for a RAM to buy online. He then asked which browser I was using and replied Chrome. He smiled, sorry I forgot to tell you he is a nerd. He then asked if I have heard of Brave, and my reply was no. He told me the browser is built on chromium just like chrome. He took my laptop, downloaded brave and set it up. According to him, brave is his preferred choice because it is more secure.
I started using the browser and exploring its features. The feature that caught my attention was Brave Rewards. I visited the brave website and read an article on how the reward scheme works. I found out “BAT (Basic Attention Token) is the currency†I will be paid. The browser displays ads on the homepage and the user gets paid based on attention given to the ad. The ads are displayed based on my preferences without my browsing data being collected. It was a fair bargain, so I activated the brave rewards.
It took more than a month before I received my first few tokens. I like the program because you get to select the number of ads you see in an hour. After I got a couple of tokens, I tried verifying my wallet but I could not. I later found out I need at least 25 tokens to be able to verify my wallet.
I finally got enough tokens to verify my wallet after a few months of using the browser consistently. The reward is tied to Uphold wallet. I created an uphold account and verified it with my ID (“Ghana Cardâ€). The uphold mobile app enables the trading of tokens (assets) and stocks. I decided to trade my tokens in exchange for bitcoin.
Hopefully, this article convinces you enough to experiment with this.
