Rudiger's Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season, and the 28-year-old is dissatisfied with the offer he has received. According to reports, the club and the player are far apart in their valuations, and no conversations have taken place in recent weeks. Crooks has told Chelsea that if they do not complete the move for Rudiger, they would regret it since he has shown to be a key player under Thomas Tuchel.
He wrote on the German's two penalty shootout victories against Leeds United this weekend, saying:
"Regular readers will know how highly I regard Rudiger, who has been outstanding for Chelsea for some time. He was in my team of the season last season, and if he keeps playing like he is now, he'll be in it again. His performance against a stubborn Leeds side, who were to some extent responsible for their own demise, was quite brilliant."
"There's a chance Rudiger's contract with Chelsea is still up for renewal. If this is the case, I recommend that they resolve the issues as soon as possible. If you put him in a Manchester United shirt, for example, they become an extremely appealing proposition. In other words, Chelsea cannot afford to lose him — especially not to one of their rivals."
With Antonio Rudiger's contract expiring next month and the German free to start discussions with any club, Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern Munich have all been linked with him.
Manchester United has yet to appear in any credible news. However, with Ralf Rangnick already at the club, a move for Rudiger to the Red Devils may be in the cards.
Real Madrid are reported to be in the lead in the race to sign the Chelsea star if he decides to reject his last contract offer and join them on a free transfer this summer.
